Fallout 4 Mods: Make It Rain [Better]!

One of the first things I love to mod in any video game that I can is the weather. In particular, I love a great rainstorm. Maybe that’s why I moved to the Pacific Northwest, where it rains all the bloody time. So when I started seeing the first weather mods for Fallout 4 on the Nexus, I immediately had to start trying them out in my game.

Currently I’m actually running the Fallout 4 version of True Storms in my game, but if you want a mod combo that just makes rain better — without all the added weather tweaks from True Storms — you might want to give this mod mash a try. With these four mods together, you can put together a truly gorgeous and immersive rain storm that will have you fleeing for shelter as quickly as possible.

FO4 Rain gives us a much needed improvement to the base game rain textures. Although it is far from perfect, it certainly is better than Vanilla, and even better rain will certainly be forthcoming once the Creation Kit becomes available.

Heavy Rain turns the vanilla rain storm into a true downpour, which I think pairs up beautifully with the Louder Rainy Sound mod. Finally, although it is not directly related to the weather, the WET – Water Enhancement Textures mod is a must-have for all around water textures improvement. If you have any conflicting files between WET and FO4 rain, just install FO4 rain after for what I think is the best water droplet effect.
